Internship Possibilities

Do you desire to serve God and His Kingdom but aren’t yet ready for long-term vocational ministry? Interested in serving on staff with the Camp for a definite time-frame? Then consider serving in a 6 or 12 week summer internship!

We’re looking for responsible young adults (ages 18-30) who would like practical ministry and job experience in the form of an internship. A variety of skill-sets are needed at the Camp, so there are many areas to serve! Check out the following descriptions of some of our intern positions!

To provide guests with diversion from the cares of this world, elevate the role of parents, and promote family unity by leading guests in experiential learning opportunities that reinforce the lessons taught during sessions.

Duties Include:

  • Provide merriment and laughter by exhibiting joy (playing and conversing with guests of all ages, and amplifying music during events).
  • Provide a clean, organized, and soothing environment for guests to enjoy (raking the beach, organizing the waterfront, and keeping equipment in good condition).
  • Set up, oversee, and clean up games and activities, as well as lead and instruct guests in these family-oriented experiences.
  • Provide a sense of security for guests by answering questions, driving vehicles in a safe manner, and exhibiting diplomacy and quiet confidence.
  • Exhibit a spirit of service by assisting guests, staff, and CREW in any area.
  • Demonstrate unity through joyfully working on a team.



Run the camp Art Box and oversee an environment that encourages families to connect, create, enjoy each other’s company, relax, and have fun together.

Duties include:

  • Responsible to be present at the AB during all open hours.
  • Handle cash daily; open and close each daily shift; be responsible for cash drawer at the end of each day.
  • Model and encourage a high level of enthusiasm (greeting families and providing assistance with all types of crafts, etc.).
  • Manage weekly CREW member and model servant leadership by performing all tasks alongside other CREW.
  • Maintain a clean environment for CREW and families, inside and outside the building.
  • Provide training and basic customer service practices.
  • Serve daily in child care (ages 0-3) during camp main sessions.


To serve our guest families by overseeing Nursery & Sunshine Clubs as well as in the role of family assistant.

Duties Include:

  • Serve weekly in a family assistant role.
  • Make sure children are adequately cared for during all sessions.
  • Supervise, coach, and encourage CREW working in Nursery/Sonshine clubs.
  • Evaluate CREW’s performance in assigned Nursery/Sonshine duties.
  • Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained and safe at all times.
  • Communicate with CREW Manager about needs or concerns that arise with in Nursery/Sonshine.


To maximize the effectiveness of The Camp’s ministry to guests by providing leadership, accountability, and mentoring for recruited CREW while they serve at Family Camp.

Duties Include:

  • Develop relationships with CREW members.
  • Informally meet with individual CREW members to mentor, encourage, and provide accountability.
  • Facilitate oversight and compliance of CREW Handbook.
  • Help new CREW assimilate into the program by greeting them as they arrive, giving tours, and being available to answer questions.
  • Lead and supervise CREW activities.
  • Intervene and defuse minor conflicts as they arise.
  • Field questions from CREW members during their stay.
  • Care for CREW members by providing transportation to and from the South Bend airport, Walmart, and medical clinics as needed.
  • During the camp’s main sessions, serve on a rotation with other CREW Supervisors (as directed by CREW Leadership), leading informal CREW sessions, and providing low-key CREW activities.


To ensure that guests and staff have a pleasant and memorable dining experience by maintaining order and cleanliness in the eating area and communicating between kitchen and dining room CREW.

Duties Include:

  • Lead the small team of dining room CREW as they prepare for, maintain, and clean up after meals.
  • Pay close attention to details while working at a rapid pace.
  • Accommodate requests from guests with a spirit of excellence and a servant’s heart.
  • Effectively communicate with staff and CREW in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist the chef during meals by monitoring the food line and communicating when food items are getting low.
  • Oversee/assist in salad bar preparations and cleanup.
  • Inspect dining room, tables and chairs, etc. for cleanliness.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


To serve guests in an atmosphere of professional “customer relations” with a spirit of excellence.

Duties Include:

  • Exhibit a high level of customer service (greeting guests and providing assistance with registrations, payments, room needs, general questions, etc.).
  • Take registrations for future events, and properly enter information into the central database.
  • Maintain clean working environments.
  • Handle cash daily; open and close each daily shift.
  • Assist in preparations for Family Camp check-in days.
  • Type up written testimonies and other guest feedback.
  • Maintain organization of office supplies.


To manage the productivity of housekeeping CREW, ensuring high standards, cleanliness, and excellent communication with Guest Services.

Duties Include:
  • Maintain a knowledge of housekeeping procedures.
  • Successfully train, mentor, and guide housekeeping CREW.
  • Aid in the completion of daily housekeeping tasks.
  • Take initiative to solve problems and help guests.
  • Be available to help with housekeeping requests from Guest Services.
  • Be on call when the housekeeping manager is off the property.


To serve guests in a professional “retail” atmosphere with a high level of customer service.

Duties Include:

  • Model and encourage a high level of customer service (greeting customers and providing assistance with clothing and snack options, etc.).
  • Manage weekly workers and model servant leadership by performing all tasks alongside other CREW.
  • Maintain a clean environment for workers and customers, inside and outside.
  • Handle cash daily; open and close each daily shift; be responsible for cash drawer at the end of each day.
  • Oversee other snack shop workers, set schedules, and provide training on POS system and basic customer service practices.
  • Maintain organization of all inventory.
  • Be the point person for any special set-up or tear-down that takes place within the snack shop building.


To effectively tell the story of Family Camp from the guests’ perspective, capturing their experience in a memorable way.

Duties Include:

  • Lead a small team of videographers and photographers. Provide basic training and direction on the types of footage needed.
  • Act as a videographer for the first half of the camp week (GoPros and SLRs).
  • Using Final Cut Pro provided by The Camp, compile and edit all footage in a weekly recap video that captures the family time guests enjoyed.
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills and time management in order to complete the weekly video before the Friday night session.
