Want to make a difference? Want a place to serve, grow, and thrive? Want to experience camp ministry first-hand? Then consider serving on CREW at Life Action Camp!

CREW (young adult volunteers from all over the country) practically
serve our guests during the weeks of summer Family Camp as well as our weekend retreat season. While serving, CREW experience many opportunities to grownot only in life skills, but also in their faith. Ultimately, this propels CREW to thrive as they live out a Christ-centered, fruitful life.

If you love gospel-centered, Spirit-led camp ministry, this experience may be the short-term mission trip you’ve been looking for! Whether it’s volunteering at a weekend retreat, serving during Summer Family Camp, or even applying for an internship position, there’s something for everyone who wants to serve with The Camp.

The Camp ministers to hundreds of families each year as they come to reconnect with God and each other. By serving on CREW, you too can be part of that impact!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Once you’ve been accepted, there is a $125 registration fee that must be submitted before your spot on CREW can be reserved.

This fee is applied toward the total cost of food, lodging, administrative expenses, t-shirts, and various events and activities provided during your stay.

We strongly encourage each CREW member to build a team of prayer and financial partners while you serve with us. For more information, check out our build a team page by clicking the link above.

There are a couple minor expenses you may want to prepare for during your stay. Laundry costs $2.25 a load (in quarters). You may want some spending money for snacks or camp gear from the Snack Shop, weekend Walmart runs, or other optional activities.

For the weeks of summer Family Camp, we require a commitment of at least two consecutive weeks as outlined below. During the spring and fall, we host independent retreats you may also be a part of.

For legal reasons, we cannot accept anyone under the age of 14.

There are also laws in place that put limitations on the type of work we can assign those under the age of 16. As a result, there is limited space for 14 and 15-year-olds in the program.

CREW fill all kinds of roles at The Camp. Below is a list of the most common roles and work assignments given. Please note that there are age requirements for specific jobs.

Acceptance letters go out in two batches: first in mid-February and then again in March. If we have received your references before one of those dates with enough time to process, read, pray, and consider them, you should receive an email with our decision then.

That said, it is important that you follow up with your references a few days after submitting your application, to be sure they have received our automatically generated email and submitted your reference. Unfortunately, we are not able to follow up with over 150 applicants’ references (that would be 300 references!), so please do not forget this important step.

Please note: in addition to your application and references, there are other external factors that go into the decision making process. Legal requirements limit the jobs we can give 14 and 15-year-olds, making it difficult to accept more than about 10 a week. A finite number of beds in CREW housing also forces us to limit the number of applicants we are able to accept.
